Hi Mc,

Which Email provider are you using? GMail? Launched from a button on your Google Toolbar or GMail Notifier?

It is normal for IE8 to loose your current tabs history when you navigate to a site in a different IE Security Zone from the current tab/window.

For safe surfing I usually only open my smtp mail in a new tab or window only.
(set up some Internet Sortcuts on your Favorites bar to do this easily from the IE toolbar.)

I place my mail providers in my Trusted Sites Zone (*.Google.com included) but do not enable either the Google Toolbar nor GMail.

Regards.

  1. Click on the Start button on the Taskbar.
  2. Type "Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool" or "Memory" (without quotes) in the Search box or,
  3. Click on Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool (in the search results).
