aero stopped after vista SP1 install
After SP1 install Aero stopped working.
Isn’t even an option anymore.
Installed SP2 hoping it would correct problem, not.
Found and ran Aero trouble shooting tool from MS web site.
It said WDM service was not started, I clicked to fix problem, and
it said could not start service.
Went to services and it said "started” and was set to auto.
Went to WEI.
It was saying new hardware found and to refresh, so I did.
WEI kept coming up with an error saying can't complete due to error being reported from operating
sys or hardware.
Reinstalled latest graphics driver, still WEI would not update.
Remember I had newest GC driver from nVidia installed before all this and Aero worked great.
Finally uninstalled SP2 still no Aero, uninstalled SP1.
GUESS WHAT? Aero works again!
How can I get SP1 &SP2 to install and not affect Aero??
